(Al-Bireh- 17/11/2014): The Thai Ambassador to Jordan, his Excellency Mr. Piriya Khempon, visited PRCS’ headquarters in Al-Bireh where he got acquainted with its programs and key humanitarian services. Ambassador Khempon and his accompanying delegation were received by PRCS’ President Dr. Younis Al Khatib and several PRCS’ officers who briefed their guests about PRCS’ interventions especially in the aftermath of the latest Israeli offensive against the Gaza Strip.
Dr. Al Khatib lauded this visit which aims at furthering cooperation and discussing means to enhance ties between PRCS and the Thai government which announced a 100 000 USD grant in support of the Society’s interventions in the Gaza Strip. Al Khatib said that all aid, no matter how finite, helps the Society and supports its humanitarian endeavors. Al Khatib provided his guests with an overview of PRCS’ services and facilities, namely its EMS Institute and Capacity Development College, Schools for Hearing-Impaired children as well as its Primary Health Care, Rehabilitation and Psychosoacil Support Programs and services in Palestine and the Diaspora.
Ambassador Khempon expressed his admiration of PRCS’ services and facilities, adding that this visit aims at getting better acquainted with the situation on the ground and discussing means to enhance cooperation between PRCS and the Thai government.
