(Toubas-8/11/2015): In cooperation with the Toubas Police Public Relations Department, PRCS launched a campaign on “Home Heating Safety in Winter” at a joint meeting between the two organizations held at the Toubas Police Directorate.
The meeting was attended by PRCS/Toubas branch director Dr. Jamal Daraghmeh, the Disaster Management Unit’s coordinator at PRCS/Toubas Mr. Monther Al Ratrout and the Director of the Toubas Police Directorate Colonel Mohamad Aliyat, as well as several PRCS’ emergency medical staff and police officers from the Governorate.
The campaign provides public and professional safety instructions as well as heating and lighting safety tips, power outage guidance and fire prevention advice to citizens and institutions. A field visit was carried out to a number of shops and institutions in the Governorate in order to provide additional information on dealing with fire and other hazards, electrical safety and risks, the safe handling of heating equipment, safety precautions and plans to respond to accidents in homes and at the workplace.
“Efforts continue in this field and we are about to publish brochures and educational leaflets relating to this campaign to be distributed to shops and local organizations in the Governorate”, Mr. Monther Al Ratrout said.
As for Col. Aliyat, he said that this is one of a series of joint meetings with PRCS’ Disaster Management Unit aiming at providing the local population with valuable information and advice on public safety, particularly in winter.
