(Gaza - 12/7/2016): The Brazilian Ambassador to Ramallah Mr. Francisco Mauro de Holanda and Basil Nasser, UNDP Gaza Program Coordinator, visited PRCS’ headquarters in Gaza City in order to get better acquainted with the Society’s activities in the Gaza Strip.
The two guests started their visit at PRCS’ Al Quds Hospital where they were briefed about the hospital’s medical services, main wards and equipment. They also visited the cardiology ward project co-funded by IBSA (India, Brazil and South Africa) and which is to provide advanced medical services to cardiac patients.
Dr. Khalil Abou’l Foul, Al Quds Hospital Director, spoke about construction and restoration works currently underway, the hospital’s future cardiac surgery unit as well as key challenges, aspirations and programs. A film which summarizes activities undertaken and key needs was also projected.
Mr. Francisco Mauro de Holanda said he was delighted to take part in this visit which aimed at enhancing coordination and cooperation with PRCS with a view to improving health outcomes. He lauded efforts made by PRCS to assist Palestinians.
The two guests then attended a Palestinian folkloric dance (dabkeh) performance. The Brazilian Ambassador was also offered a symbolic gift which consists of a piece of Palestinian embroidery made by disabled persons working with PRCS.
