A Youth Initiative by PRCS in Support of Children and Women in Hebron’s Old City

(Hebron - 11/2/2019):  A PRCS’ youth initiative entitled “We Are With You” was carried out in Hebron’s Old City, with a view to providing support to pupils. Organized with support from the Danish, Swedish and Norwegian Red Cross Societies as well as from Hebron Municipality, the initiative featured the distribution of backpacks and coats to pupils in three Old City schools: Cordoba school, Al-Ibrahimia school for boys and Al Fayhaa school for girls.

Carried out in coordination with ICRC by a number of PRCS’ staff and volunteers as well as representatives from the International Movement of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IM), the initiative aimed at enhancing the steadfastness of pupils who face continuous aggressions by settlers and occupation forces.

Diplomas were also handed to a group of women who attended First Aid courses while First Aid kits were distributed to 65 women living in Jaber Neighborhood, which is adjacent to the Kiryat Arba settlement (East of Hebron). Representatives from PRCS, the IM and Hebron’s Municipal Council as well as local institutions and community leaders were present at these events which aimed at increasing women’s awareness of First Aid basics given the daily aggressions committed by Israeli settlers and soldiers alike.
