The Palestine Red Crescent Society in Gaza has commenced, during the month of August, stress release and management days for its staff, volunteers and their families at Gaza beach, where more than 6,000 persons participated.
The event, as part of the Psychosocial Support Program (PSP), aimed at assisting PRCS staff and volunteers as well as their families to cope with their daily stress, especially after the last Gaza crisis. It was conducted with support from the ICRC.
Mr. Omar Elazaiza, the PRCS administrative Director in Gaza, pointed out that these activities were supposed to be organized outside the Gaza Strip, but as a result of the closure imposed, the activities were carried out at one of the Gaza resorts.
On his part Mr. Azmi Al- Astal, Psychosocial Support Program coordinator in Gaza, assured that the program aimed at alleviating the psychosocial pressure that the staff and the volunteers underwent during the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip.
Mr. Alastal stated that the event included contests, musical and art performances, in addition to children theme parks, and swimming pools.
PRCS staff and volunteers expressed their appreciation for the ongoing support received within the Movement that enables them to keep their humanitarian work.
