PRCS/Rafah organizes a youth encounter
PRCS branch in Rafah held on the 28th of September 2010 a preliminary extensive meeting for a group of youths aged between 14 and 18 within the “Determining Youths Desires” Project funded by the Italian “North & South” Organization. The meeting, held at Al Mustaqbal Association in Rafah, was attended by Dr. Sameer Kishta, Head of the branch, Dr. Jean Calder, PRCS Rehabilitation consultant, members of the branch’s Administrative Committee, Project Coordinator in Rafah Mr. Ayman Sab’e el Esh, and around 25 students between the ages of 14 and 18.
After welcoming participants, Dr. Sameer Kishta said that the “Determining Youths Desires” Project aims at getting acquainted with the needs and aspirations of youths from this specific age group. “Through this project, PRCS aims at focusing on and fulfilling their various needs. The project shall start with English language, popular heritage and dabke courses with the participation of 50 young boys and girls, to be followed by several other events. This meeting marks the start of the Project which shall comprise several courses and programs aimed at enhancing the role played by youths in society as well as at polishing their skills, developing their talents and building their capacities”, he added.
Dr. Jean Calder spoke in detail about activities and programs to be implemented in Rafah Governorate, including English language, drama and theatre courses, as well as many other beneficial events and activities.
At the end of the meeting, participating youths addressed their thanks and appreciation to PRCS for its efforts and for paying attention to their aspirations and educational, recreational, social and sports-related needs on all levels.
