(Cairo, 18-01-2011): PRCS inaugurated a cardiac catheterization unit at its Palestine hospital in Cairo in cooperation with the International Cardio Scan Center chaired by Dr. Adel Al Atrabi. Equipped with state-of-the-art technologies, the unit comprises 13 beds and serves both Palestinian and Egyptian patients.
The inauguration ceremony was chaired by PRCS President Dr. Younis Al Khatib and was attended by Dr. Mamdouh Jabr, General Secretary of the Egyptian Red Crescent Society, Dr. Adel Al Atrabi, prsedent of the Iinternal Cardio Scan center, Dr. Hamdi Al Sayed, Head of the Doctor’s syndicate, Dr. Majida Al Sharbini, General Director of the Egyptian Red Crescent, Mr. Klaus Spreyermann, ICRC Head of delegation in Egypt, as well as a representative from the Palestinian Embassy in Egypt.
“Creating this Unit is an Egyptian-Palestinian success story that shall enhance cooperation in various medical fields. It aims at providing therapeutic services to Egyptian and Palestinian patients by Egyptian doctors and professors”, Al Khatib said, adding that cooperation between both parties shall be enhanced in the field of training Palestinian doctors in Egyptian medical colleges and training centers, with focus on the Gaza Strip.
Dr. Adel Al Atrabi said that this unit is the most developed in Egypt. He commended the cooperation between the center and the PRCS which aims at providing high quality services for Palestinian and Egyptian patients.
This new achievement falls within PRCS’s Plan to develop all sections in Palestine hospital, improve therapeutic services and enhance the skills of its doctors and nurses with the support of Egyptian expertise until self-sufficiency is achieved.
