(Central Jordan valley region, 19-04-2011): PRCS launched its “Warm Winter” Campaign in support of the poorest and most-in-need families in the West Bank and Jerusalem, in cooperation with the Qatari Red Crescent Society.
In this vein, PRCS President Dr. Younis Al Khatib, PRCS Humanitarian Aid Program Officer Ms. Nazek Anabtawi, PRCS/Nablus Head of Branch and Ms. Mouna Ghannam, Qatari Red Crescent Society Representative took part in the distribution of aid to around 50 families in the region. Covers, mattresses, heaters and carpets were distributed to poor families in Al Nassariya, Al Aqarbaniya, Beit Hassan and Ein Shabli areas.
Dr. Al Khatib explained that this campaign aims at providing support to inhabitants in the central Jordan valley, an area targeted by Israeli occupation authorities which impose restrictions on its Palestinian inhabitants. He also lauded the support provided by the Qatari Red Crescent in this field.
The “Warm Winter” campaign is implemented as part of PRCS’ Humanitarian Aid Program. It includes the distribution of aid to 593 of the poorest families in marginalized areas as well as in areas affected by the Separation Wall in Jerusalem, Hebron, Tulkarem, Qalqilia and in the Central, Northern and Southern Jordan valley area.
