PRCS Concludes its Youth Camp in Bethlehem

(Bethlehem, 15-9-2011): PRCS concluded its 5-day Youth Camp held at Talita Qoumi School in Bethlehem with the participation of 30 young men and women from West Bank Governorates.

Mr. Ashraf Abahra, Head of Youth and Volunteers Department, valued the historic role played by youths and volunteers ever since the Society came into being as well as their support of its various activities and programs in all regions hosting Palestinian communities. He hoped that participants would harness their capacities, energy and experience gained from the Camp to serve fellow Palestinians, and that they would convey this experience to future young generations in order to serve PRCS and society in general.

Abahra also touched on the role played by PRCS to enhance voluntary work within the Palestinian society and to deepen awareness amongst young people through various programs and activities. He also lauded the role played by the Danish Red Cross Youth which supports this program and which sent two of its members to participate in the Camp. This, he added, is an example of the continuous exchanges between PRCS and the Danish Red Cross Youth, mainly amongst youth.

It is to be noted that the Danish Red Cross Youth had hosted 6 young people from PRCS in Copenhagen for one month where it trained them on activities to take place during the Camp in Bethlehem.

The Camp aimed at raising young Palestinians’ awareness of the importance of psychological release for children and school pupils in times of conflict through sports and social theater activities.
